Chittenden County Traffic Alert - Week of November 2, 2020

NOTE:  Road work can be weather dependent, and dates of work may shift accordingly.

Burlington

Paving on North Avenue between Convent Square toward Sherman Street and intersection redesign at North Avenue and North Street will cause lane closures and traffic delays.

Construction on Bank Street at the entrance to Marketplace garage will close the Bank Street entrance to the garage through November 9. Vehicles will need to use the Cherry Street entrance. Pedestrians are detoured to the south side of Bank Street.

Hinesburg

Work on Route 116 north of the intersection with Shelburne Falls and CVU Road will cause lane shifts and alternating one-way traffic on roads around the intersection. Traffic control will be present and motorists should expect delays between 9am and 3pm during the week. Interstate 89 between Exit 11 and just north of Exit 16
Sunday through Thursday from 7pm to 6am there will be work on bridge joints between Exit 14 and Exit 15 both north-and southbound as well as general cleanup work throughout the project limits. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with traffic control present. For more information visit https://vtrans.vermont.gov/projects/i89-resurfacing 

Richmond
Dugway Road is closed near the Huntington Gorge due to a washout last fall. The road will be closed through the fall, and possibly into the spring of 2021.

Underhill
Motorists should be aware of general clean up work on VT Route 15 from N. Underhill Station Road to Cambridge on Monday through Friday between 6:30am and 6pm.

Countywide
Motorists should be alert for intersection mowing, pothole patching and general maintenance work on the interstate and state and local roads. Please slow down in work zones.

Drivers are asked to please use caution. The CCRPC would like to remind all motorists in highway work zones to:

  • Reduce speed;
  • Obey all workers holding signs;
  • Watch out for people and machines; and
  • Give ‘em a brake… when you encounter a work zone.
