Bringing the Data to Decision-Making Using Chittenden County DMV Records

The role of data in decision-making is key to ensuring our policies and goals are responding to real-time travel choices, vehicle fleet turnover, and trends in vehicle ownership. Using real data from vehicle registrations and inspections in Chittenden County, researchers at the Transportation Research Center have collaborated with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission to create a dashboard that allows users to assess vehicle miles travelled, vehicle tailpipe emissions, gallons of fuel consumed, kilowatt hours of electricity consumed, changes in vehicle types and vehicle fuels, and much more.
