Vanpool Services
Vanpools are like carpools but usually have more people traveling in one vehicle. Instead of using your personal vehicle, the State of Vermont provides you with a newer model SUV or van to take to work. The Vanpool group splits a low monthly fee that covers all costs. The Commuter Co-op VT Vanpool Program is provided in partnership with Commute Enterprise. If you are interested in starting a vanpool or joining one, contact Joe at Commute with Enterprise – (201) 320-8300 or email joseph.a.traina@em.com
How does vanpooling work?
A vanpool can be a group of 8 to 13 people who commit to regularly riding together and travel at least 25 miles roundtrip. Volunteer drivers pick up riders at specific points, drop them off at or near their worksite and return them to their pick-up points at the end of each work day. Typically, riders pay a monthly fare and maintenance fee, while drivers receive a discounted rate in exchange for driving and maintaining the van.
